I’m a big fan of Michelle Obama for many reasons, but top of the list is that she’s proving to be a great role model for health-conscious Americans. She eats well, exercises regularly, plants organic gardens at the White House… what’s not to love?!
Women’s Health magazine recently interviewed her about her take on health. Some of my favorite excerpts below:
“We have an individual responsibility to look after ourselves and our families by making better choices when it comes to what we eat and making exercise a regular part of our lifestyle. We need to educate children in particular about how to live a healthy lifestyle. If we provide kids with [that] foundation, they are much more likely to become healthy adults.”
“What we try to do in our household is to make the primary source of [Sasha and Malia’s] food mostly healthy and balanced, so that they don’t have to worry when they go to a birthday party or when they’re at a sleepover. They’re not hoarding junk food because they don’t get it at all. We want to make sure that the balance of their diet is pretty thoughtful.”
